All-rounder Paul Walter was the standout performer as Manchester Super Giants defeated Sunrisers Leeds by 20 runs in the Eliminator to secure a spot in the men's Hundred final. Walter's explosive 80 off 46 deliveries propelled the Super Giants to a formidable total of 186-4 after being put in to bat at The Oval. England seamer Josh Tongue then anchored the bowling effort, taking 4-26 to restrict Sunrisers' chase. Despite losing an early wicket, Walter, unfazed, partnered with Jos Buttler to add 57 runs for the second wicket, with Buttler contributing 33 from 20 balls. Walter then combined with Heinrich Klaasen, forging a powerful 114-run partnership off just 52 balls. Klaasen was particularly destructive, smashing 63 off 26 deliveries before being dismissed by Nathan Ellis. Sunrisers, who boasted a potent top order, struggled to maintain momentum under the pressure of a substantial chase, ultimately finishing at 166-7. Key wickets included tournament leading run-scorer Mitch Marsh, who fell for 10, and captain Zak Crawley, who was given out lbw for six. Harry Brook kept Sunrisers' hopes alive with 49 runs off 31 balls, but his dismissal left the team requiring 89 runs from 44 balls, a target they could not reach. Tongue was instrumental in dismantling the Sunrisers' middle order, with support from Sonny Baker, who took 2-39. Ryan Rickelton remained unbeaten on 54. Manchester Super Giants are set to face Trent Rockets in the final at Lord's on Sunday.
