Leandro Paredes was involved in another on-pitch altercation over the weekend, this time during a club match for Boca Juniors. The incident occurred during the Argentine Primera Division match against Newell's Old Boys on Sunday, which ended in a 2-2 draw.

Trailing 2-1 in the 68th minute, Paredes appeared to deliberately kick a ball at a fallen opponent who was in the process of getting to his feet. The action prompted angry players from Newell's Old Boys to confront Paredes, and the referee issued him a yellow card for the behavior.

This latest incident follows controversial actions by Paredes after Argentina's World Cup final victory. In the aftermath of the match, he was seen engaging with members of Spain's victorious team, including grabbing defender Eric Garcia by the neck and pushing over Gavi. He also appeared to throw punches. Footage from the World Cup final also showed him fortunate to avoid a red card for a foul towards the end of normal time. FIFA has since initiated disciplinary proceedings against Paredes for the unsportsmanlike conduct. He is facing three counts of assault and a charge of unsporting behavior related to the post-World Cup final events.
