Argentine midfielder Leandro Paredes was involved in another on-field altercation during a club match over the weekend, a little over a month after his controversial actions following the World Cup final. Paredes, 32, was playing for Boca Juniors in their 2-2 draw against Newell's Old Boys in the Argentine Primera Division on Sunday.

Trailing 2-1 in the 68th minute, Paredes appeared to deliberately kick a ball at an opponent who had just been fouled and was getting to his feet. The player had his back turned when Paredes booted the ball, which sparked a confrontation with players from Newell's Old Boys. The referee subsequently issued Paredes a yellow card for the incident.

This latest incident follows Paredes' behavior after Argentina's World Cup final defeat to Spain in July. In the aftermath of that match, he was seen confronting members of the Spanish team, grabbing defender Eric Garcia by the neck, pushing over Gavi, and appearing to throw punches. FIFA has since opened disciplinary proceedings against Paredes, charging him with assault and unsporting behavior.

Paredes was also fortunate not to receive a red card during the World Cup final itself for a foul committed towards the end of normal time.
