Nottingham Forest is reportedly in discussions with Chelsea regarding a potential transfer for forward Liam Delap. The 23-year-old player was not included in Chelsea's squad for their 3-2 Premier League win against Fulham on Monday night.

Daily Mail Sport reported last week that Chelsea is open to considering offers for Delap. He joined the London club from Ipswich Town last summer after a successful season at Portman Road, but he managed only one Premier League goal during his debut campaign at Stamford Bridge.

Forest manager Oliver Glasner's team is exploring the possibility of a deal. Other Premier League clubs have also expressed interest in Delap this summer. Ipswich Town has been rumored to be considering a return for their former player, while Leeds United, who recently defeated Forest 1-0, is also keen, though the potential transfer fee may prove prohibitive.

Everton is another club that could pursue a loan arrangement for Delap if their primary targets for permanent transfers do not materialize. Forest's initial approach is understood to be for a loan deal that includes an option to buy.

Forest has also shown interest in Newcastle's Jacob Murphy, who is also a target for Everton. Earlier in the summer transfer window, Nottingham Forest signed defender Ousmane Diomande from Sporting for £36 million, along with midfielders Xaver Schlager and goalkeeper Steve Benda as free agents. The club sold Elliot Anderson to Manchester City for £116 million.
