The No. 2 Oregon Ducks survived a significant challenge from Boise State, securing a 34-27 victory in their 2026 season opener on Saturday at Autzen Stadium. Despite entering the game as heavy favorites, Oregon found themselves tied with the unranked Broncos in the fourth quarter before a late touchdown sealed the win.

Dante Moore, Oregon's quarterback, completed 388 passing yards and threw for three touchdowns. His pivotal 62-yard touchdown pass to wide receiver Dakorien Moore ultimately put the Ducks ahead for good. This win extended Oregon's home winning streak against nonconference opponents to 39 games, the longest active streak in the nation.

Boise State quarterback Maddux Madsen contributed 181 passing yards and three touchdowns in the effort. The Broncos, who are joining the rebuilt Pac-12 Conference this year, had a strong showing, scoring on their opening drive with a 13-yard pass from Madsen to Cam Bates. The teams traded blows throughout the game, with Oregon tying the score early in the second quarter on Jordon Davison's 1-yard touchdown run.

Boise State took the lead again after recovering a muffed punt, with Sire Gaines scoring on a 37-yard reception. Canaan Moore added a 29-yard field goal to extend the lead before Oregon narrowed the deficit to 17-14 just before halftime with a 27-yard touchdown pass from Dante Moore to Jamari Johnson.

After halftime, Gage Hurych kicked a 26-yard field goal for Oregon, and Jeremiah McClellan followed with an 8-yard touchdown catch to give the Ducks their first lead. However, Boise State responded, tying the game before the end of the third quarter on Madsen's 7-yard scoring pass to Matt Wagner. The fourth quarter saw Hurych and Canaan Moore exchange field goals, setting the stage for Dakorien Moore's game-winning touchdown.

Oregon will travel to Stillwater next week to face Oklahoma State, while Boise State will host Memphis in Week 2.
