Netflix has hired Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Luke Kuechly as its lead NFL color analyst for the upcoming season. He will be paired with play-by-play announcer Noah Eagle.
Kuechly's broadcasting debut will be on September 10 for the game between the Los Angeles Rams and the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne. Netflix is set to broadcast five NFL games this season, including a Christmas Day doubleheader.
Despite having minimal television experience, Kuechly impressed Netflix executives during a recent tryout with Eagle. Sources described their on-air chemistry as immediate.
Kuechly is widely regarded as one of the greatest linebackers in NFL history. He is part of the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame class, with his induction ceremony scheduled for August 8 in Canton, Ohio. His playing career was cut short after eight seasons due to injuries.
He previously served as a radio analyst for the Carolina Panthers' team broadcasts and hosts a podcast with former teammate J.J. Jansen. Kuechly's notable accolades include five First-Team All-Pro selections, seven Pro Bowl appearances, and the Defensive Rookie of the Year award. During his NFL career, he led all linebackers in tackles, takeaways, interceptions, and passes defended.
Kuechly joins a roster of prominent NFL commentators that includes Tom Brady, Troy Aikman, Cris Collinsworth, Tony Romo, and Kirk Herbstreit. He played in Super Bowl 50 during the 2015 season, where his Panthers lost to the Denver Broncos.
