Karolina Muchova has advanced to the Wimbledon final after defeating Coco Gauff in a closely contested semifinal match on Friday. The final score was 6-2, 2-6, 7-6 (10), with the match decided by a tense tiebreaker.

This marks Muchova's second Grand Slam final appearance, having previously reached the championship match at the 2023 French Open. She is the fourth Czech woman in the past six years to reach the Wimbledon final. The other Czech women to reach recent finals include Karolina Pliskova (runner-up, 2021), Marketa Vondrousova (champion, 2023), and Barbora Krejcikova (champion, 2024).

For Gauff, this semifinal appearance represents her most successful Wimbledon to date. Previously, the American player had reached the fourth round at the tournament on three occasions, including her breakthrough performance as a 15-year-old in 2019. Gauff is currently ranked seventh in the world.

Muchova, ranked ninth, will await the winner of the other semifinal match, which features another Czech player, Linda Noskova, against Marta Kostyuk of Ukraine. The men's semifinals were also scheduled for Friday, with top-ranked Jannik Sinner set to play Novak Djokovic, and Alexander Zverev facing Arthur Fery.
