A baseball game between the Chicago Cubs and the Chicago White Sox at Wrigley Field was disrupted Monday night by a brawl involving fans, leading to several arrests and drug charges. The incident occurred during the Cubs' 7-5 victory.
Social media footage captured approximately a dozen men exchanging punches and throwing drinks in the stands. Other spectators were seen scrambling to get out of the way amid the chaos. Security guards and police officers intervened to separate the individuals involved.
According to reports, three people were arrested. A 41-year-old man faces charges of misdemeanor battery and felony possession of cocaine. Two others, aged 33 and 29, were charged with misdemeanor criminal trespass.
Video clips showed an elderly security staff member attempting to de-escalate the situation before the fight began. The altercation appeared to involve fans wearing Cubs jerseys fighting among themselves, with many spectators recording the event. One individual was observed leaving the area with blood on their face.
This incident followed another video that circulated on social media appearing to show a fan shoving a woman while trying to retrieve a home run ball during Sunday's series finale against the St. Louis Cardinals. The ball, hit by Cubs player Pete Crow-Armstrong, landed in the stands, sparking a scramble among fans to claim it as a souvenir.
