Legendary sports radio personality Mike Francesa is set to return to the Jersey Shore for a live taping of his BetRivers show, "The Mike Francesa Podcast." This marks Francesa's first live broadcast from the Jersey Shore since his departure from WFAN's afternoon drive slot in 2019.
The event is scheduled for Sept. 3 at Bar Anticipation in Lake Como, New Jersey, with the broadcast set to run from 4-6 p.m. Francesa, 72, announced the upcoming live show on his podcast Wednesday.
A lineup of other BetRivers podcasts with ties to WFAN is also slated to join Francesa at the venue. Among the guests will be Adam "the Bull" Gerstenhaber, a former WFAN host and Cleveland sports media personality, as well as Sal Licata and John Jastremski, hosts of the newly launched "New York Sports Rush."
Francesa promised a variety of attractions for attendees, including giveaways, contests, music, and guests. "We're going to have some very familiar and very good guests," he stated.
Admission to the event will be free, with an option for fans to purchase VIP tickets in advance through Bar Anticipation's website. Historically, Francesa and Chris Russo hosted their popular "Mike and the Mad Dog" show annually at Bar Anticipation. Francesa continued to host the solo show there after Russo's departure from WFAN in 2008. Francesa has been hosting "The Mike Francesa Podcast" on BetRivers since 2022, building on a decades-long career at WFAN, where he retired for the third time in 2020.
