France and Bayern Munich winger Michael Olise, 24, has expressed a strong desire to join Real Madrid, according to L'Equipe.

Reports indicate Olise has informed his French national team colleagues at the World Cup of his ambition to play for the Spanish club and has been seeking details about Real Madrid from them during the tournament. Kylian Mbappe and Aurelien Tchouameni, both members of the French squad, currently play for Real.

Olise joined Bayern Munich in 2024 for a reported £50 million and has three years remaining on his contract. Real Madrid would likely need to offer a substantial transfer fee to secure his services.

Despite his reported wishes, Bayern teammate Dayot Upamecano is reportedly engaged in an "intense lobbying effort" to persuade Olise to stay with the German club.

Olise has attracted significant transfer speculation following his impressive performances for Bayern, where he recorded 16 goals and 27 assists in 39 league games. He also leads the World Cup assist chart with five assists heading into France's third-place play-off.

Earlier this year, German media suggested Liverpool was preparing a £173 million bid for Olise as a potential replacement for Mo Salah, but Bayern Munich maintained he was not for sale. His name also surfaced during the Real Madrid presidential election, with speculation that a £130 million offer might be made if Florentino Perez secured another term. Perez won the election, but no official contact has reportedly been made between the clubs regarding Olise, whose market value may have increased following his World Cup displays.
