Four-time world champion Max Verstappen has signed a new contract with Red Bull that will keep him with the Formula One team until the end of 2030. This agreement is expected to quell speculation about the Dutch driver's future, particularly following links to potential moves to Mercedes or McLaren.
Verstappen was previously under contract until the end of 2028, but his prior deal included clauses that could have allowed him to depart at the conclusion of the current Formula One season. The 28-year-old driver expressed his commitment to the team, stating, "We have the best people and I'm excited to keep working together with everyone to get back to the top again."
He added that the team remains his "ultimate goal" and that he feels at home with the team he considers a "second family." Verstappen recalled his initial aspiration to win races with the team and highlighted the "simply lovely" achievements they have shared, including four World Championships. He emphasized that continuing this journey with the team with which he has spent his entire career is "really special and something I have always wanted to do."
