Marcus Rashford has voiced a desire to focus on his football without his name being consistently in the spotlight. The Manchester United forward's comments followed an instance on a podcast where co-hosts discussed him extensively.

Rashford responded to a clip from the "Stick to Football" podcast, where former Manchester United defender Gary Neville initiated a conversation about the player. Jamie Carragher, another co-host, expressed frustration with the focus on Rashford, remarking, "Can we do a podcast without mentioning Rashford? It's like the Trent [Alexander-Arnold] and Rashford… like a little part of the podcast."

In a post on X, formerly Twitter, Rashford replied to the clip, thanking Carragher and stating, "It would be great to be able to get my head down and play football without my name being mentioned every day."

Rashford, 28, spent last season on loan at Barcelona, where he won the La Liga title. He has not made a competitive appearance for Manchester United since December 2024 under former manager Ruben Amorim. He could be in contention to play in the Premier League opener against Hull on Saturday.

Manchester United defender Harry Maguire expressed his hope that Rashford will remain at the club, describing him as a "big asset" and a "huge threat" after the team's 4-2 friendly defeat to AC Milan on Saturday.
