Manchester United Knocked Out of Carabao Cup by Brighton

The decisive goal came in the 69th minute when substitute Maxim de Cuyper's shot deflected in off a United player, completing Brighton's comeback.

This loss follows a derby defeat on Sunday and external club news regarding academy player JJ Gabriel. Manager Michael Carrick had made six changes from the side that lost the derby, giving opportunities to young players like Lacey and defenders Leny Yoro and Ayden Heaven.

United had not lost at home after holding a two-goal advantage in 146 previous games. Brighton secured their fifth win in six visits to Old Trafford with this victory.
