Manchester City's 19-year-old forward Matty Warhurst is expected to leave the club as multiple English teams express interest in signing him. Warhurst has a strong scoring record in City's youth system, netting 61 goals in 97 games. He is now in the final year of his contract and aims to transition into senior professional football.

Clubs including Stockport County, Swindon Town, Cambridge United, Northampton Town, and Burton Albion have indicated their interest in the player. City staff consider Warhurst a composed and effective finisher. In his first season with the U18s, he scored 24 goals and provided two assists in 30 matches. The following year, he recorded 26 goals and five assists in 40 appearances, including the decisive goal that secured the U18 Premier League North title.

Although his playing time was limited by injury last season, Warhurst still managed 10 goals in 742 minutes in Premier League Two. Manchester City anticipates including a sell-on clause in any transfer agreement, as they hold the player in high regard but acknowledge the limited pathway to the first team.
