Manchester City is nearing the conclusion of negotiations for Lille's highly-rated 18-year-old midfielder, Ayyoub Bouaddi, who is valued at £85 million. The potential transfer comes as Barcelona intensifies its efforts to sign City's Spanish international, Rodri.
Bouaddi, a Moroccan international, has reportedly attracted significant interest from multiple clubs. Lille coach Davide Ancelotti acknowledged the ongoing negotiations, stating, "Of course, there are negotiations. There is interest from so many clubs. He is a really, really good player and I hope that he is going to stay with us!" Ancelotti described Bouaddi as an "incredibly intelligent" and mature player, adding that he "looks like he is 32 when he is on the pitch" and has the potential to become "one of the best midfielders in Europe for the next 10 years."
Bouaddi's potential arrival at the Etihad Stadium could help Manchester City prepare for the possible departure of Rodri. Barcelona has reportedly submitted a third offer for the 30-year-old defensive midfielder, believed to be around £60 million, and is hopeful of reaching an agreement with City.
In other transfer news, Manchester City maintains an interest in midfielder Enzo Fernandez, though Chelsea did not meet the reported £120 million deadline for a bid. Additionally, Tottenham Hotspur is expected to make an offer for City winger Savinho.
