Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert and Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter Madison Beer announced their engagement Tuesday on Instagram.

The joint announcement included a photo of Herbert on bended knee presenting a ring to Beer. The caption read, “Meet my fiancé."

Congratulatory messages were posted by the NFL, the Chargers, and singer Gracie Abrams.

Herbert and Beer were first seen together in August. Beer attended several Chargers games last season, and the couple has also been seen at Los Angeles Dodgers and Lakers games. Herbert also appeared in Beer's "lovergirl" music video.

Chargers coach Jim Harbaugh has acknowledged the relationship, having previously quipped "Do you need a ride to the airport?" when Herbert missed voluntary offseason workouts to accompany Beer on tour.

Herbert, 28, is entering his seventh season with the Chargers. The team has not won a playoff game during his tenure. Beer, 27, rose to prominence in 2012 after singer Justin Bieber shared a video of her singing.

Beer released her debut single and video in 2013, featuring an appearance by Bieber. She received Grammy nominations in 2024 and 2025.
