Liverpool have reportedly agreed to a significant deal worth up to £120 million for Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, marking a major move in the summer transfer window.

The Premier League club is understood to be finalizing the transfer after weeks of negotiations with PSG. The agreement is believed to include a base fee of £100 million, with an additional £20 million in add-ons. This structure is similar to Liverpool's acquisition of Florian Wirtz the previous year.

Barcola, 23, has been identified as a primary target for Liverpool as they seek to fill the void left by Mohamed Salah's departure to Trabzonspor. The club had previously seen a bid rejected for another player, Yan Diomande, who subsequently joined Real Madrid.

This potential transfer surpasses Chelsea's recent £117 million acquisition of Morgan Rogers from Aston Villa, making it the largest deal of the summer so far. Liverpool's sporting director, Richard Hughes, and Fenway Sports Group president, Mike Gordon, have been leading the negotiations.

Barcola, who came through Lyon's academy, spent the last three seasons at PSG, contributing to two Champions League titles and three Ligue 1 championships. He scored 39 goals in 152 appearances for the French club and represented France at the recent World Cup, scoring against England in the third-place playoff.

Despite this substantial investment, Liverpool's management may still pursue additional forward options. The club has also reportedly inquired about Crystal Palace forward Ismaila Sarr and held discussions regarding Brighton's Yankuba Minteh. Earlier in the month, Liverpool also sounded out PSG's Ibrahim Mbaye.

Last season, Liverpool spent over £450 million on new signings, including Alexander Isak, Florian Wirtz, and Hugo Ekitike. However, the team under manager Arne Slot finished fifth in the Premier League, narrowly securing Champions League qualification. The club has also seen other departures this summer, including Andrew Robertson and Ibrahima Konate, while recruiting defenders Jeremy Jacquet and Ronald Araujo, and winger Victor Munoz. Curtis Jones also left for Inter Milan for £30 million.
