Lindsey Vonn, the Olympic gold medalist skier, made an appearance at the US Open on Sunday, marking a significant step in her recovery from multiple surgeries. Vonn was seen with minimal bandaging on her surgically repaired left leg, a visible sign of her ongoing rehabilitation following a serious crash at the Milan-Cortina Games.

She attended the event in Flushing, Queens, wearing a skin-tight, sleeveless olive-green dress. The attire featured a small slip on the left side, revealing a small amount of medical tape along her left calf and knee. This public appearance comes months after Vonn underwent eight surgeries to address the extensive damage sustained in the February 8 downhill race.

Despite the severity of her injuries, which reportedly nearly led to amputation, Vonn has not ruled out a return to skiing. She acknowledged in the past month that her ankle is "still broken" and that walking has been a difficult process, indicating the slow nature of her recovery.

In recent weeks, Vonn has shared glimpses of her rehabilitation progress on social media, including photos from a summer vacation where she was seen paddleboarding and engaging in watersports, demonstrating her determination to return to an active lifestyle.

At the US Open, Vonn was observed watching Novak Djokovic compete against Mariano Navone. She also expressed her support for Polish tennis player Iga Świątek, whom she considers a friend.

Vonn, who was previously in a relationship with hockey player P.K. Subban, has recently been romantically linked to French racer Matthieu Bailet. The pair have been seen together in New York City, attending a Broadway show and going shopping.
