Leroy Sané, the German international winger formerly of Manchester City and Bayern Munich, has reportedly voiced his unhappiness to Galatasaray officials regarding his current role and reduced playing time at the Turkish club. According to Turkish newspaper Sabah, Sané has made it clear to club leadership that he is displeased with his lack of consistent minutes and does not view himself as a player who will only make brief appearances.

Sané began the season in Galatasaray's starting eleven for their opening Turkish Super Lig match against Corum on August 14. However, he has since been relegated to the bench for the team's subsequent two league fixtures, with Yunus Akgun occupying his place in the starting lineup. In a 4-0 victory over Erzurumspor on August 21, Sané entered the match as a substitute in the 65th minute, with his team already leading 3-0. He again came off the bench in the second half of a 3-2 win against Goztepe on Saturday, entering the game with 17 minutes remaining.

Galatasaray currently leads the Turkish Super Lig standings ahead of their upcoming match against city rivals Istanbul Basaksehir. The club's recent acquisition of Rafael Leao from AC Milan could further impact Sané's opportunities. While Leao primarily operates as a left-winger, potentially freeing up the right flank for Sané, the Portuguese international's presence could lead to tactical shifts. If Leao starts on the left, regular starter Baris Alper Yilmaz might be moved to the right wing, potentially limiting Sané's chances.

Sané joined Galatasaray in June 2025 on a free transfer from Bayern Munich, signing a three-year contract that reportedly guarantees him an annual salary of £7.66 million, plus a loyalty bonus. During his first season with the club, he contributed seven goals and nine assists in 43 appearances across all competitions, helping Galatasaray secure the Turkish Super Lig title and the Turkish Super Cup.
