The Los Angeles Lakers are inching closer to a fully healthy roster as second-year forward Adou Thiero has been assigned to the franchise’s G League affiliate, the Coachella Valley Lakers. This move suggests Thiero is nearing his season debut after being sidelined due to swelling in his left knee.
Lakers coach JJ Redick indicated earlier in the week that the hope is Thiero will be available to play later this week. "He’s had some live exposures," Redick said of Thiero, "and I think he’s trending in the right direction."
The 6-foot-8 forward has been dealing with left knee swelling, which affected the same knee that underwent surgery in the spring of 2025. This issue also caused him to miss training camp, the preseason, and the first 13 games of the current season.
Thiero participated in the team’s first three preseason games before the injury. He was the only player listed on the Lakers' injury report before their game against the Kings.
The Lakers are scheduled to host the Trail Blazers on Friday before beginning a road trip against the Pistons on Sunday. The team will then play the Hawks in Atlanta on Monday.
