Point Of Law, a horse previously owned by King Charles, has won Australia's prestigious Melbourne Cup. Australian jockey Ethan Brown rode the horse to victory in the "race that stops a nation" on Tuesday.

Point Of Law, which the King sold earlier this year for an undisclosed sum, was among the early favorites for the A$10.2 million race. Brown steered the horse from the middle of the pack, taking the lead in the final few hundred meters. "Don't wake me up," Brown said in his post-race interview, describing his focus as staying cool and patient during the race.

The Melbourne Cup has been run in Australia annually since 1861 and is one of the country's third-richest races.
