Los Angeles Lakers star Luka Dončić confronted a fan who threw a basketball at female referee Chelisa Painter during Wednesday night's game against the Sacramento Kings. The incident occurred late in the third quarter of the Lakers' eventual 116-103 victory at Golden 1 Center.
After a block sent the ball out of bounds, a fan seated near the Lakers' bench grabbed the ball and threw it with two hands toward Painter. Dončić, noticing the action, approached the fan and appeared to question his behavior, asking, "What the hell is he doing?"
Another spectator captured video of Dončić later saying, "What is wrong with you, man?" toward the fan.
Security personnel intervened swiftly, escorting the fan from his seat with 2:35 remaining in the third quarter. No physical harm was reported, and Painter bounced the ball on the court before play resumed.
Dončić, known for his on-court awareness, expressed his bewilderment at the fan's actions, stating he was confused by what the spectator was doing.
