Kendrick Perkins, a former NBA player and current ESPN analyst, publicly criticized Rich Paul, the agent for LeBron James and other prominent players, during a recent broadcast. Perkins stated that Paul had been unreachable for two days, despite previously communicating throughout the season.
"Rich Paul, little turtle head snotty nose ass, called me all throughout the season every time I'm on TV I get a text message from him," Perkins said on ESPN. "I've been calling him for two days now and he been ignoring me. We got a problem."
Perkins' comments come as Paul navigates a critical period in his role as an agent. James, entering his 42nd season, recently informed the Los Angeles Lakers of his decision not to return to the team. Paul also represents other notable players like Draymond Green, who opted out of his contract with the Golden State Warriors, and Anthony Davis, who is eligible for a contract extension in August.
In addition to his agency work, Paul has also entered the media landscape, co-hosting the "Game Over" podcast with Max Kellerman for The Ringer/Spotify. This platform may provide Paul an opportunity to respond to Perkins' remarks.
NBA free agency officially began on Tuesday, marked by several significant player movements, including James' decision regarding his future team.
