Scottish actress Karen Gillan found herself in an unexpected celebration after Brazil's 3-0 victory over Scotland in Miami on Wednesday night, June 24, 2026. Gillan, known for her roles in "Guardians of the Galaxy" and the "Jumanji" reboot, shared moments from her World Cup experience on Instagram, detailing how she ended up on a bus with jubilant Brazil supporters.
Initially thinking she might have boarded the wrong bus, Gillan embraced the situation, joining the Brazilian fans in their chants. Videos shared on her Instagram Story showed fans cheering and celebrating the team's shutout win. Gillan humorously narrated, "I think we're on the wrong bus. But we love you Brazil."
Gillan also posted a video of herself and the Brazil fans singing "No Scotland, no party," a chant typically associated with Scotland's Tartan Army supporters group. "They are singing our song!!" she wrote in the post, also noting a moment where a Scotland fan and a Brazil supporter exchanged jerseys.
"Thank you for joining me on this World Cup journey. What a night," Gillan captioned a clip of herself giving a thumbs up. She had expressed her excitement earlier in the day, sharing a video of herself cheering in the stands at Hard Rock Stadium with the caption, "I can't believe I made it."
Brazil's victory was secured by two goals from Vinícius Júnior and one from Matheus Cunha, propelling the five-time World Cup champions into the knockout stage. Scotland concluded their group play with 3 points and awaits the results of other matches to determine if they will advance to the Round of 32 as a third-place qualifier.
Neymar Jr. made his 2026 World Cup debut in the match, coming off the bench despite dealing with a calf injury. This marked his first game with the national team since October 2023, and he received a warm welcome from the Brazilian crowd. The star forward was later seen with his girlfriend, Brazilian model Bruna Biancardi, and their daughters. The couple recently announced they are expecting their third child together.
Brazil is scheduled to play in the Round of 32 on June 29.
