New York Giants owner John Mara, 71, made an appearance at the team's training camp, offering inspiration to new head coach John Harbaugh and the players as he continues to battle cancer. Mara, clad in white, was visible on the sidelines during practice, drawing a positive reaction from those affiliated with the team.

Harbaugh described Mara's presence as a boost, calling him "our leader." He emphasized Mara's deep connection to the franchise, noting that the owner's involvement spans his entire life. "When you talk about the New York Giants, you talk about their legacy, you’re talking about the ownership line," Harbaugh told The Post. "John Mara, he’s been doing this for how long? Many, many years, and not just since he’s been in that position in terms of running the organization."

Harbaugh highlighted Mara's lifelong dedication to the Giants, drawing a parallel to his own upbringing in a coaching family. "But his whole life. His whole life has been the New York Giants. He grew up with it. It’s in his DNA. It’s in his blood," Harbaugh said. "I know how that is because my dad [Jack is] a coach. You live it when you’re 3, 4, 5 years old right on through every single day. And he’s that kind of a guy, he’s a football man. He’s been around it since he can remember, and you can see it, the wisdom and the judgment, the decision-making and all that."
