The New York Jets may have achieved a rare feat in building their offensive line, selecting two tackles in the first round in consecutive drafts. Olu Fashanu, chosen 11th overall in 2024, and Armand Membou, picked 7th in 2025, have drawn significant praise, with running back Breece Hall calling them the team's "two future $100 million tackles."
This pairing represents one of only five instances since 2000 where a team has drafted offensive tackles with first-round picks in back-to-back years, according to research by The Post. ESPN NFL analyst Damien Woody, a former Jets right tackle, believes both players possess the talent to become elite.
"From a talent perspective, absolutely they both can be those type of tackles," Woody told The Post. "Did Breece pull the trigger a little too early? Maybe. But the Jets might have hit the jackpot with both of these guys, and if you do that, it sets the table for your offense for years to come."
While drafted by different general managers, the success of Fashanu and Membou together could provide a long-term cornerstone for the Jets' offense, a development that would be considered a significant rarity in the league.
