Los Angeles Lakers Governor Jeanie Buss shared a brief but positive reaction to superstar guard Luka Dončić's comments regarding the recent $12.5 billion sale of the franchise to Bob Iger and Josh Kushner.

Dončić posted on social media following the sale announcement, stating, "Being a Laker means everything to me, and I’m excited to get back on the court and bring a championship to LA. I’ve gotten used to big changes over these last few years, but I know that no matter what, there is no limit to the potential of this iconic franchise. I look forward to meeting Josh and Bob so we can get to work building something special in LA together."

In response to Dončić's statement, Buss replied on X, "Perfectly said 💛💜."

Buss transitioned to full leadership as the Lakers' controlling owner in 2017, following the passing of her father, Dr. Jerry Buss. The Buss family retained a 15% stake in the team after selling their majority share to Mark Walter for $10 billion in 2025.

Iger, one of the new owners, indicated that they hold considerable respect for Buss's role and contributions to the franchise. "We have enormous respect and appreciation for Jeanie, her father and what they’ve contributed to this franchise," Iger told the California Post. "And we have every intention to honor the agreement that was made between Mark and Jeanie. If things change, they’ll change, but we’re going into this with enormous respect and appreciation for who she is and what she represents in the organization."
