London City Lionesses defender Jana Fernandez has signed a new contract that will keep her at the club until 2029. The 24-year-old has become an integral part of the team since her arrival from Barcelona a year ago.

Fernandez was a consistent presence in London City's debut Women's Super League season, participating in every league match as the team secured a sixth-place finish. Her performances at right-back garnered significant appreciation from fans, who voted her the club's player of the season.

"I'm absolutely delighted to sign a new contract here at London City," Fernandez stated. "When I arrived in England one year ago I joined this club with dreams for the future. Potential, excitement and progress are three words I associate with the club and I'm pleased to commit my future. I feel at home and settled here. We are building something special together, as players, staff and fans, and I can't wait to play my part."

Prior to her move to England, Fernandez played her youth and senior career at Barcelona. She progressed through their academy system, contributing to five league championship titles. Additionally, she won the Champions League and Copa de la Reina three times during her tenure with the Spanish club. Fernandez was also a member of the Spain squad that finished as runners-up to England in the Euro 2025 tournament.
