New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson refused to sign a New York Giants helmet when approached by a fan at Fanatics Fest on Thursday, stating that doing so would be "against my religion." Brunson, a well-known supporter of the Philadelphia Eagles, expressed his strong allegiance to the team.
When asked if he could be converted into a Giants fan, Brunson firmly replied, "No." Despite his initial refusal, Brunson ultimately signed the helmet, but only after writing "Go Birds" on it, a clear nod to his preferred team.

Brunson, who was born in New Jersey, has strong ties to Philadelphia. He attended Villanova University from 2015 to 2018, where he won two national championships alongside current Knicks teammates Mikal Bridges and Josh Hart. His support for Philadelphia sports teams has been evident in the past; he was seen wearing a Jalen Hurts jersey before a Giants-Eagles game in 2023 and appeared on ESPN's pregame show for an Eagles-Falcons game in September 2024.
Since joining the Knicks in free agency four years ago, Brunson has become a key player for the team, averaging over 24 points per game and leading them to four consecutive playoff appearances. His performance in the NBA Finals, including a 45-point game to clinch MVP honors, has solidified his status as a fan favorite and a notable figure in the league.
