Kansas City police were called earlier this week after an intruder entered the media center at KC Parks, a facility near England's World Cup training base at Swope Soccer Village. The man, who was carrying a wrench and speaking loudly, was arrested by local authorities.

The individual appeared distressed upon entering the venue and was disarmed and escorted out by staff. He attempted to leave the location when he heard sirens approaching. Despite the security incident, no one was threatened by the intruder.

Members of the FA, journalists, and media center staff were present during the event. England's coaching staff, including manager Thomas Tuchel and assistant Anthony Barry, along with players, were preparing for press duties at the time and were not directly endangered.

England is currently based in Kansas City, Missouri, for the tournament, utilizing its central location for travel. The team is scheduled to travel to Miami on Friday for their quarter-final match against Norway on Saturday evening.

The squad is facing several player availability concerns. Reece James has returned to training after a hamstring injury sustained earlier in the tournament. However, backup right back Jarell Quansah is serving a two-game suspension, and Marc Guehi is dealing with a hamstring issue. Additionally, Declan Rice has missed the last two training sessions due to illness and is experiencing hamstring and back pain.
