Great Britain's Georgia Hunter Bell continued her strong season with a victory in the women's 1500m at the Paris Diamond League on Saturday. Bell crossed the finish line in three minutes 55.63 seconds, a season's best for the athlete.

She narrowly defeated Ethiopia's Freweyni Hailu, who finished second with a time of 3:55.92, and France's Agathe Guillemot in third at 3:56.24. This win marks Bell's second Diamond League title of the year, following her previous success in Rome last month with a time of 3:58.63.

Bell, who won a world title in Torun in March, also claimed Olympic bronze in the 1500m in 2024. She previously won world 800m silver in Tokyo. Her performance in Paris adds to her momentum as she prepares for upcoming events, including the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow and the European Championships in Birmingham.

In other events at the Paris meet, Great Britain's Ben Pattison finished fourth in the men's 800m, which was won by Marco Arop of Canada in 1:41.84, the fastest time this calendar year. Matthew Hudson-Smith also placed fourth in the men's 400m, behind Botswana's Busang Collen Kebinatshipi, who set a meet record of 43.54.

The Paris Diamond League event was adjusted due to extreme heat, leading to the cancellation of all activities for athletics clubs and regional competitions. Only professional athlete competitions proceeded as scheduled.
