The Miami Heat are poised to be active in the upcoming NBA free agency period, focusing on acquiring versatile 3-point shooters to round out their roster after securing Giannis Antetokounmpo earlier this week. The acquisition of Antetokounmpo, a year-long pursuit for the franchise, positions the Heat as immediate contenders, necessitating the addition of complementary role players.

Multiple reports indicate the Heat's primary objective in free agency is to add "at least two skilled 3-point shooters." Among the players reportedly on Miami's radar are Anfernee Simons, who played for the Boston Celtics and Chicago Bulls this past season; Landry Shamet, a key contributor to the championship-winning Knicks; Tim Hardaway Jr., formerly of the Denver Nuggets; and Quentin Grimes, a fixture with the Philadelphia 76ers.

The Heat are expected to build their team around the newly formed duo of Antetokounmpo and Bam Adebayo. Antetokounmpo, a two-time MVP and former Defensive Player of the Year, led the Milwaukee Bucks to an NBA title in the 2020-21 season. He joins Adebayo, a consistent All-Defensive team selection and three-time All-Star, who has also been a part of two U.S. Olympic gold medal teams.

This strategic approach aims to maximize the impact of their star players, particularly on the defensive end, while adding much-needed offensive spacing through veteran sharpshooters. The free agency window opens on June 30, marking the start of a critical period for the Heat's roster construction.
