England captain Harry Kane has taken to social media to confirm his voice has returned after he lost it while singing with teammates and fans following the Three Lions' 3-2 victory over Mexico. The match, played in the early hours of Monday morning, saw England secure a hard-fought win at the Azteca stadium.

Following the game, Kane joined his squad in singing Oasis's 'Wonderwall' in front of the travelling supporters, a tradition that led to him losing his voice. This resulted in a memorable, albeit hoarse, post-match interview that gained significant attention.

"How we doing everyone?" Kane said in a social media video. "First of all, as you can hear, my voice is back. I mean, what an all-timer of an interview that was last night. Glad to see everyone having a good laugh about it. It was a perfect interview to end a perfect night."

The match itself was challenging for England. Defender Jarell Quansah received a red card early in the second half, leaving the team to play with 10 men for a considerable portion of the game. England had been leading 2-1 at the time of the red card. Kane extended the lead to 3-1 by converting a penalty, which was won by Anthony Gordon. However, Mexico pulled a goal back to 3-2 through a penalty scored by Raul Jimenez, but England managed to hold on for the historic win.

Kane reflected on the significance of the victory, stating, "Going into that game was so special, the atmosphere, the stadium, everyone was so excited to be there and play in this iconic game. To come through the adversities during the game in the way we did, put our bodies on the line, the boys covering every blade of grass – it was incredible to be a part of. It was one of my favourite games in an England shirt without a doubt."

He also expressed gratitude for the support received from fans both in the stadium and those staying up late back home, noting an even stronger connection with the supporters. The team has now begun its recovery and preparation for the upcoming quarter-final clash against Norway.
