Harry Kane has officially become England's all-time leading goalscorer in World Cup history, surpassing Gary Lineker's record of 10 goals.

Kane reached the milestone with his 11th World Cup goal, scored across three tournaments. Lineker had held the record for 36 years.

Kane's World Cup Goal History

The Daily Mail Sport ranked all 11 of Kane's World Cup goals. His latest record-breaking goal came from an open play header, assisted by Jude Bellingham, which found the top corner from six yards out. This marked a rare open-play goal for Kane at a World Cup.

Among his other World Cup goals, Kane has scored five penalties. One of these, against Croatia in 2026, was a retaken penalty after the goalkeeper was judged to have been off his line and an infringement occurred in the penalty area. Kane scored the retake into the bottom corner.

Another notable penalty was against France in the 2022 World Cup quarter-final, which equalized the match and momentarily ignited hope. However, this goal is often remembered in conjunction with his subsequent missed penalty in the same game.

Kane's first World Cup goal was a tap-in against Tunisia in 2018, where he positioned himself well to score after an initial save. His second goal against Tunisia in the same tournament came in stoppage time, securing a victory for England in their opening match of the 2018 campaign.

Notable Goals and Performances

In the 2018 World Cup, Kane scored a hat-trick against Panama, including a peculiar goal where the ball inadvertently struck his leg and went in. He also scored a penalty against Panama in the same match and converted another penalty against Colombia in the Round of 16.

Kane's most polished goal, according to the ranking, was against Senegal in the 2022 World Cup. This goal capped off a counter-attacking move and was a right-footed shot past the goalkeeper.

His 11 World Cup goals were scored in the 2018, 2022, and 2026 tournaments. This achievement places him alone at the top of England's World Cup scoring charts.
