The men's gymnastics team final at the Commonwealth Games was briefly suspended after England athlete Gabriel Langton sustained a serious head injury. Langton fell from the high bar, landing on his head and neck area, and had to be taken from the Glasgow International Arena on a stretcher.

The competition was paused for approximately 30 minutes while Langton received medical treatment. Initial reports indicated the gymnast was lying still following the fall, but there were later suggestions that his legs were seen moving. He was stabilized and taken away in a neck brace.

The high bar was England's final rotation in the team event. Prior to Langton's injury, the team was in second place, behind Canada. Following the disruption, gymnasts were permitted another warm-up before the final concluded.

England's Luke Whitehouse, who was scheduled to perform after Langton, described the incident as "really tough" but acknowledged the team's effort to refocus. "We just had to reset, try to put it to one side mentally and focus on the job we had to do," Whitehouse said. "I think everyone should be proud of the way we carried on after Gabe's fall."

Alexander Yolshin-Cash and Adam Tobin completed their routines successfully, helping England secure second place. Canada won the gold medal, marking their first victory in the event in 20 years, while Australia claimed the bronze.

This result meant England finished without a gold medal in the men's gymnastics team final for the first time since the 2010 Commonwealth Games. While Joshua Nathan, Tobin, Whitehouse, and Yolshin-Cash accepted their silver medals, Langton was absent as he continued to receive medical attention.

Nathan expressed pride in the team's performance amidst the difficult circumstances. "It's such a beautiful medal, and after the competition we've had today, it's something really special to take home," he stated. "Today has been such a rollercoaster. First and foremost, our thoughts are with Gabriel after what happened on high bar. But the way this team came together was incredible."

Tobin echoed these sentiments, adding, "We all hope Gabe is okay, but at the end of the day we had to pull together, keep our heads down and do our jobs. I'm really proud of all the guys."
