The men’s gymnastics team final at the Commonwealth Games was briefly suspended after England's Gabriel Langton sustained a serious head injury during his high bar routine. The incident occurred on July 24, 2026, at the Glasgow International Arena.
Langton fell from the high bar, landing on his head and neck area from a height of 8.5 feet. The competition was paused for approximately 30 minutes while medical personnel attended to him. Initial reports indicated Langton was lying still on the ground, but he was later stabilized and seen moving his legs before being taken from the arena on a stretcher and in a neck brace.
Despite the disruption, the competition continued after a brief warm-up period. Teammates Luke Whitehouse, Alexander Yolshin-Cash, and Adam Tobin completed their routines. Whitehouse appeared visibly distressed following the incident but performed his routine, though he did not land his dismount. Yolshin-Cash and Tobin successfully completed their performances, helping England secure the silver medal.
Canada won the gold medal in the men's gymnastics team final, their first victory in the event in 20 years. Australia took the bronze medal. England's team, including Joshua Nathan, Tobin, Whitehouse, and Yolshin Cash, received silver medals while Langton was undergoing further medical assessment.
This result marked the first time since the 2010 Delhi Games that England did not win the gold medal in the men's gymnastics team final.
