Jack Grealish's preferred destination, should he leave Manchester City in the remaining days of the transfer window, would be a return to Everton, sources have informed BBC Sport. The winger has made substitute appearances in Manchester City's initial two matches of the season, but new manager Enzo Maresca is reportedly open to allowing the English player to depart.
Grealish previously spent time with Everton, scoring two goals and providing six assists in 20 appearances during his last spell. However, his season was cut short by a foot injury sustained in January.
Manchester City sources have stated that no concrete offers for Grealish have been received this summer. Everton's chief executive, Angus Kinnear, recently confirmed to BBC Radio Merseyside that the club has maintained contact with the player.
Maresca commented on Grealish's situation on Thursday, saying, "Jack is here. Until the day he is, it my duty to try and help him to give us the best. In the next four, five days, we will see what happens. I speak with Jack almost everyday."
Meanwhile, Manchester City has expressed interest in signing Everton winger Iliman Ndiaye, who has rejected multiple contract offers from the Merseyside club. Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal had shown significant interest in signing the Senegal international this summer, but the 26-year-old reportedly turned down the move. Everton is not under pressure to sell Ndiaye, whose contract extends until 2029, and would likely demand a substantial fee, estimated around £70 million, for any potential sale.
