The New York Giants have secured a key piece of their offensive line, agreeing to a two-year contract extension with left guard Jon Runyan Jr. The deal, worth $22 million with $21.5 million in guaranteed money, will keep Runyan with the team beyond his current contract, which was set to expire at the end of 2026.
The extension was confirmed on Sunday. Runyan, 29, is entering his third season with the Giants. He is part of an offensive line that returns four starters from the previous season, tasked with protecting quarterback Jaxson Dart. The lone newcomer on the line is right guard Sisi Mauigoa.
This move, along with an extension for backup quarterback Jameis Winston on the same day, could also assist the Giants in managing their salary cap for 2026, as the team is currently projected to be over the cap by approximately $1.18 million, according to Over The Cap.
