The New York Giants have signed wide receiver Dalen Cambre from their practice squad to the 53-man roster, a move made just ahead of their Week 1 matchup against Dallas. This decision comes as the team awaits word on the availability of star receiver Malik Nabers, who is recovering from a season-ending knee injury sustained last September.
The Giants also elevated Braxton Berrios for Sunday's game. Cambre, 25, spent four seasons at Louisiana before joining the Giants last year as an undrafted free agent in the 2025 NFL Draft. He began last season on the practice squad before being promoted to the active roster in December, appearing in seven games during the 2025 season.
Cambre impressed during training camp this year, earning him a spot on the active roster. Following the Week 1 game, Berrios is expected to return to the practice squad. Cambre has spoken about approaching every practice as an opportunity to impress, noting the competitive nature of the NFL, especially for players not selected early in the draft.
This roster move also follows the team's recent decision to release wideout Darius Slayton, who had been with the Giants for eight seasons. The addition of Cambre provides depth at the receiver position as the team prepares for its season opener.
