Germany midfielder Leon Goretzka experienced a moment of confusion during the World Cup when he boarded the wrong team bus.
A video circulating online captured Goretzka walking onto the Ecuador team bus instead of the bus designated for the German squad. After entering the bus, he was seen on the windshield turning around and exiting without any visible reaction.
The incident occurred after Ecuador secured a 2-1 victory over Germany in the tournament. Goretzka has participated in two of Germany's World Cup matches, accumulating 22 minutes of playing time across the group stages. His most extensive involvement was during Germany's 7-1 win against Curacao on June 14.
This marks Goretzka's third World Cup with the German national team, having previously appeared in 2018 and 2022. In his World Cup debut, he started a group stage match against South Korea, playing over an hour. In the 2022 tournament, he played in two games, including a full 90 minutes against Spain and Costa Rica.
Goretzka also plays club football for FC Bayern München, where he has recorded 51 goals and 44 assists in his career.
