The Atlanta Falcons are facing a significant setback as first-round draft pick Jalon Walker is believed to have suffered a torn ACL during training camp.

Walker, the 22-year-old edge rusher, was unable to put weight on his left leg after going down early in practice. He was subsequently helped off the field on a cart and taken to the locker room, according to reports. The team awaits an MRI to confirm the severity of the injury.

The incident led first-year coach Kevin Stefanski to end practice approximately 45 minutes early. Players were observed gathering around trainers as they attended to Walker on the field.

Walker was selected by the Falcons as an edge rusher in the first round of the 2025 NFL Draft, alongside James Pearce Jr. As a rookie, Walker recorded 36 tackles and 5.5 sacks, while Pearce had 10.5 sacks.

Should Walker be sidelined for an extended period, the team's depth at outside linebacker will be tested, with Cameron Thomas, Samson Ebukam, and Azeez Ojulari potentially seeing increased action.
