ESPN NFL draft analyst Matt Miller lost his left arm in a severe car accident last Wednesday, an incident in which he was ejected from his vehicle and sustained significant blood loss. The accident occurred in Missouri and involved Miller's 2023 Ford Bronco and a semi-truck.
Details of the crash were released Thursday, revealing that Miller suffered a compound fracture of his left femur, a shattered left kneecap, and multiple broken ribs. Doctors performed an emergency amputation of his left arm to save his life. Fortunately, his head, neck, and spine were spared serious injury.
Miller, who remains in intensive care, has also undergone surgery on his left leg and a procedure on his shoulder to assess options for future prosthetic use. A GoFundMe shared by Miller on his X account states that his recovery will be a long and challenging process, but notes his determination and positive spirit. He has reportedly joked about becoming "the best one-armed bartender ever."
Miller joined ESPN in 2021 after an 11-year tenure at Bleacher Report. He has been a consistent presence on the network's NFL draft coverage, appearing on shows such as "SportsCenter," "NFL Live," and "Get Up."
