England midfielder Jordan Henderson has undergone surgery in Kansas City, USA, after breaking his arm. The injury occurred on Sunday during celebrations following England's win over Mexico. Henderson sustained the injury when he fell awkwardly while attempting to jump over advertising hoardings at the side of the pitch.
He did not participate in the match but was attended to by medical staff and carried off the field on a stretcher while receiving oxygen. Henderson later posted on social media that the surgery was successful and thanked the medical staff at the Kansas City Orthopaedic Institute, including the three surgeons who performed the operation. The midfielder expressed his readiness for the upcoming match on Saturday.
