England concluded their series against Pakistan with an eight-wicket victory in Birmingham, securing a comprehensive 3-0 series win. Daily Mail Sport's Richard Gibson provided player ratings for the series.
Ollie Robinson was highlighted for his performance, earning a rating of 9.5 out of 10. Gibson described him as "near perfect from start to finish," noting his mastery with the new ball and his series-leading 21 wickets at an average of 8.76. He also contributed with the bat, scoring a 50.
Josh Tongue received an 8.5 rating for his attacking approach, taking 19 wickets over the series. Jofra Archer was rated 7.5, marking his first multi-match series as an ever-present player in his seven-year Test career, with 23 wickets and sustained pace and hostility.
Other notable performances included Harry Brook (7.5/10), who showed positive signs for the post-Bazball era by batting for the close on day one. Jordan Cox and Dan Lawrence both received 7/10 ratings for their versatility and contributions, with Lawrence scoring fifties in each of his three appearances and offering useful off-spin.
Jamie Smith also finished the summer strongly, earning a 6.5 rating for his smooth keeping and eye-catching innings, including a 69 despite a dislocated finger. Captain Joe Root received a 6.5 rating, with his dismissals often being leg before wicket to balls nipping back into the stumps.
At the lower end of the ratings, Ben Duckett scored 2/10 and finished at the bottom of England’s batting averages for the three Tests with an average of 8.8. Emilio Gay received a 5/10 for a difficult series but showed mettle by scoring a half-century.
Gus Atkinson was rated 5/10, having taken his second wicket only in Pakistan's final innings after a series of dropped catches and near misses. "He will bowl worse and take more," Gibson commented.
Ratings for the Pakistan team included Mohammad Abbas (8), Razaullah (7), Saud Shakeel (6.5), and Mohammad Ali (5.5).
