Camilo Duran has already proven his value to Celtic, with manager Martin O'Neill asserting the Colombian has repaid his transfer fee after a stellar double performance against LASK. Signed for an initial £4.5 million from Qarabag, Duran scored two impressive goals, contributing to Celtic's commanding 3-0 victory and bringing them closer to a Champions League return.

O'Neill praised Duran's overall contribution, highlighting his effectiveness both offensively and defensively. "He was exceptional. Really exceptional. I said that to him. He’s been fantastic for us since he’s arrived at the football club," O'Neill stated after the match. "His goals were terrific, but his play was great. His running back, helping full backs, helping Colby (Donovan) out on a number of occasions. It was just a magnificent performance."

Despite missing out on the group stage last year, O'Neill believes the team is on track, though he remains cautious about the second leg. "They know, they absolutely know this," he stressed when asked about the players' focus. "I think we’ve shown that we’re capable of scoring, which we probably would need to do. They are a fine side. I’m not playing it down at all."

Duran's goals, along with Benjamin Nygren's opener, secured a significant advantage. "It was a great goal by Nygren to take a bit of pressure off, give us the lead. And then Duran’s two goals were fantastic. The game is absolutely in the balance," O'Neill added.

O'Neill also commended young defender Colby Donovan, who deputized for Alistair Johnston. "He really did great. He’s got a big, big heart and that’s nice to see, really nice to see. He’s a local lad as well too and loves it. Loves the football club, loves playing. His enthusiasm is boundless. He stuck to his task brilliantly tonight. It’s great to see a young player like that, just showing no sign of fear or nerves, or just go out and attack the game like that. He just goes for it."

In other team news, Celtic are reportedly targeting Hajduk Split midfielder Niko Sigur as a potential replacement for Arne Engels, who moved to West Ham for £22 million. Sigur, who represented Canada at the World Cup, is available for approximately £3 million.
