The Los Angeles Dodgers are reportedly calling up top prospect Josue De Paula from Double-A, with the 21-year-old expected to play designated hitter. The move comes as manager Dave Roberts announced that Shohei Ohtani will be placed on the injured list.
De Paula is ranked as the No. 6 prospect in baseball and the highest-rated outfielder. In the 2026 season with the Dodgers' Double-A affiliate, the Tulsa Drillers, he recorded 27 home runs in 588 plate appearances. He posted a slash line of .303/.401/.547 and stole 31 bases in 123 games. Previously, De Paula was signed by the Dodgers out of the Dominican Republic in 2022, receiving a $397,500 contract. He was named the 2025 Futures Game MVP.
