Los Angeles Dodgers hitting coach Aaron Bates reported that All-Star outfielder Andy Pages is pain-free in his fractured hand, a positive development for the team as they navigate a period below a .500 winning percentage since July 1. Pages sustained the injury, a fractured hand, when he was struck by a 100 mph fastball against the Pittsburgh Pirates on August 21. He was subsequently placed on the 10-day injured list.
Pages underwent surgery on his left hand just over a week ago and is expected to resume swinging in the coming days. Prior to his injury, Pages was batting .272 with a .796 OPS. He began the 2026 season as one of baseball's top hitters, earning his first career All-Star selection.
The Dodgers have struggled offensively, experiencing inconsistency throughout the summer. In a recent game against the St. Louis Cardinals, the team went 1-for-18 with runners in scoring position and left 13 runners on base. The team has also lost two consecutive games to St. Louis to commence a nine-game homestand, raising hopes that Pages' potential return could provide a much-needed boost to the offense.
