Cristiano Ronaldo and Georgina Rodriguez have married in an intimate civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, according to a press release.
The couple announced their union via a joint Instagram post on Tuesday, showcasing their hands adorned with gold wedding rings.
"C❤️G," Ronaldo captioned the post. Rodriguez, in Spanish, wrote, "Yes I do. In this and in all my lives."
The ceremony included their five children: twins Eva Maria and Mateo, 9; daughter Alana, 8; daughter Bella, 4; and 16-year-old son Cristiano Jr. The couple previously announced the death of Bella’s newborn twin brother, Ángel, in April 2022.
Ronaldo, 41, proposed to Rodriguez a year ago, on August 11. The proposal gained attention not only for Ronaldo's fame but also for the reported size and value of Rodriguez's engagement ring, estimated to weigh over 30 carats and be worth between $2 million and $5 million.
Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been together for nearly a decade, first meeting when Rodriguez was a sales assistant at a Gucci store. They were first publicly seen together at the Best FIFA Football Awards in Zurich in January 2017.
In Rodriguez's 2022 Netflix reality series, "I Am Georgina," Ronaldo spoke about the unexpected depth of their relationship. He admitted that he did not anticipate the relationship becoming so strong or falling in love with her, but came to see her as "the woman of my life."
Rumors of their marriage had circulated in July when both were photographed wearing bands on their ring fingers. The couple shared images and videos from their time in the U.S. during the FIFA World Cup this summer, where Portugal was eliminated in the Round of 16. Following the tournament, Ronaldo confirmed it would be his last World Cup.
