Coco Gauff advanced to the U.S. Open semifinals after a dramatic comeback victory against Mirra Andreeva on Wednesday. The American overcame an early deficit, saving two match points in the second set to ultimately win the quarterfinal match with a score of 6-2, 7-6(7), 6-2.

Gauff found herself trailing 4-0 in the first set, but rallied to force a tiebreak, which she won 7-6(7). She continued her momentum into the deciding set, securing the victory and a spot in the semifinals.

During the intense second-set tiebreak, Gauff was involved in a remarkable 39-shot rally that she won to go up 5-3. The crowd at Arthur Ashe Stadium played a role in encouraging Gauff throughout the match, particularly when she was facing elimination.

In the final set, Gauff appeared to find her rhythm, at one point frustrating Andreeva to the extent that the Russian slammed her racket to the ground after falling behind 2-1.

Gauff is scheduled to face Elena Rybakina in the semifinals.
