Chelsea has placed a significant valuation of £75 million on their right back, Malo Gusto, amidst interest from Manchester City. Sources close to the 23-year-old French international suggest he would be open to reuniting with former manager Enzo Maresca, who is reportedly set to succeed Pep Guardiola at City.

However, Chelsea insiders indicate that Manchester City is not the sole suitor, with other major European clubs also monitoring Gusto's situation. Chelsea is not actively seeking to sell the player, as he remains a valued member of their squad. The club's potential acquisition of Marco Palestra from Atalanta, a versatile defender who can operate on either flank, has fueled speculation regarding Gusto's future.

It remains to be seen if Manchester City will meet Chelsea's substantial asking price, even in a transfer market where fees have reportedly surged. Chelsea is also reportedly seeking £120 million for Enzo Fernandez, should he transfer to Real Madrid this summer.

Maresca's anticipated arrival at the Etihad Stadium also coincides with Manchester City's pursuit of Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson. Anderson, currently at the World Cup with England, has expressed a desire to join City, whose offers have thus far been rejected by Forest's owner. City's most recent proposal is reported to be an initial £106 million, with additional add-ons and bonuses.

Despite Guardiola's confirmed departure from Manchester City and the club's immediate discussions with Maresca, an official announcement of the new manager's appointment is still pending. Negotiations between Manchester City and Chelsea regarding compensation for Maresca, who resigned from Chelsea earlier in the year, are expected to exceed £10 million.
